Lochinver House Expands Toddler Group Offerings
At Lochinver House School in Potters Bar, we are proud to be continuing to strengthen our community engagement with a growing programme of toddler groups designed to support early development through play, creativity and outdoor learning.
Families across Potters Bar and Hertfordshire are invited to take part in the school’s popular Stay, Play & Explore sessions, where young children can enjoy a range of themed activities in a warm and welcoming environment. The upcoming session, themed Bugs, Bees and Butterflies, will offer sensory tuff trays, imaginative play stations, storytime and hands‑on creative experiences aimed at sparking curiosity and fostering a love of learning from an early age.
As a well regarded prep school in Hertfordshire, Lochinver House is committed to providing opportunities beyond the classroom. The toddler sessions are designed not only for children, but also for parents and carers, offering a chance to connect with others while supporting their child’s social development and confidence.
In addition to Stay and Play sessions, Lochinver School has introduced Little Swans Baby Ballet, a weekly class led by Lizzie Meeks (LMSD). Open to children aged 18 months and above, the sessions aim to introduce the joy of movement and music in a supportive, creative setting. Taking place every Wednesday during term time, the classes form part of the school’s wider commitment to nurturing creativity and self-expression.
Another highlight of the programme is the school’s Forest School toddler group, held weekly on Fridays. Delivered by a qualified practitioner, these free sessions immerse children in nature and reflect the ethos of Lochinver House as one of the best private schools in Hertfordshire for holistic education. Young participants can explore woodland areas, engage in mud and water play, build dens, and take part in simple outdoor activities that develop resilience, independence and teamwork.
