Lochinver House

Welcome From the Head

I believe that education should be a stimulating learning journey that is full of fun, enriched by challenge and of lasting value. When your son joins Lochinver Preparatory School, this journey is founded upon a close and constructive partnership between home and school. We will work closely with you to give your son every possible opportunity to improve, to rise to new challenges and to build learning power.

Good education will always be based around a combination of traditional teaching methods and modern technologies, but at Lochinver we go further than this to provide an all-round education that will be exciting, challenging and stimulating. Working on issues such as relationships, drug education and study skills we make sure that every base is covered and every pupil understands his responsibility to the wider school community. Our motto ‘to perservere is to succeed’ acknowledges that strength of character must be allied to developing talent in order to thrive in the dynamic and challenging world of the 21st century.

I believe that happiness and growing self-confidence are keys to a child’s success. From such security each boy is challenged to improve against the standards that he sets for himself in every area of school life. If each boy continues to do this as he progresses through the School he will gain as much as he gives and will leave us with a great deal to offer his next school and beyond.

Lochinver House Preparatory School is a vibrant, exciting school for boys. Education is an exhilarating experience and I look forward to meeting with you, showing you around our school and exploring further how we can work together to give your son the best possible start. You are welcome to visit at any time. Please call the Registrar, Mrs Anne Meir on 01707 653064, to make an appointment to visit us.

Yesterday's first ever Pre Prep Lego Club was a massive hit! The boys listened to 'Whatever next' by Jill Murphy and then designed rockets for Baby Bear to fly to the moon, complete with a seat for his companion, Owl. Next week the boys will design and construct landmarks.
