Head Boys' Charity Assembly
On Tuesday, 26th April, Mr Alex Hulme visited Lochinver House to deliver an assembly about his work at Malaria Consortium, one of this year’s chosen Head Boys’ Charities.
Malaria Consortium was established in 2003 and specialises in the prevention, control and treatment of malaria and other communicable diseases among vulnerable populations. The Charity’s mission is to improve lives in Africa and Asia, through sustainable, evidence-based programmes that combat targeted diseases and promote child and maternal health.
The charity also works with the Africa Progress Panel and Mr Hulme spoke about global targets for improving people’s lives around the world through new Sustainable Development Goals which have extended a further 16 years the remit of the previous Millennium Development Goals. The aim globally is to tackle the root causes of poverty and embrace the need for economic development which leaves no one behind and gives every child a fair chance of leading a decent and healthy life. The goals also face our duty to protect future generations.
We would like to say a massive thank you to Mr Hulme for delivering such an informative and fascinating assembly which further raised our awareness of the importance of raising funds for Malaria Consortium.
