Un voyage en Bourgogne
Last week Year 8 spent a fantastic, fun-filled week at Maison Claire Fontaine, a French activity centre in the heart of the Burgundian countryside. The boys took part in many activities including lessons, archery, circus skills, mosaic making, hiking and cooking, all in French of course! We also went on a trip to Vézelay, a historic town, and Château de Bussy Rabutin, the home of a disgraced courtier of Louis XIV. The week ended with a trip to a local market on the Friday morning, where the boys bought food for their lunch which they then carefully prepared and presented to the group. Some impressive plays, written by the boys, topped off a very rewarding and enjoyable week.
The boys put in every effort to speak French as much as possible during the week and they all improved and grew in confidence over the 5 days. I would like to thank Miss Jefferies, Mr Barth, Mr Donohoe and Miss Perreault for coming along and helping to make the trip so successful. The teachers and staff at Maison Claire Fontaine were fantastic and we can’t wait to return next October with the current Year 7 group!
