Head Boys’ Charities
At the start of each school year, the Lochinver House Head Boys, House Captains and Vice House Captains draw up and agree upon a list of charities to present to all of the boys in Years 3 to 8. The boys and staff then vote to determine which charities the School will support over the coming academic year.
In last Friday morning’s assembly, the Head Boys, House and Vice House Captains put forward their views on why to vote for seven different charities. Each of those charities had a special meaning to those presenting them. One of the boys even had the courage to talk about his condition which could potentially make him blind.
The teachers, pupils and parents who had come in to see their sons' presentations then voted for their top three charities. The votes were collected for counting at morning break and after the big count up the results were that this year, 40% of the money we raise will go to Cure Parkinson’s Trust, a further 30% will go to support Malaria Consortium and the remaining 30% will go to Fight for Sight.
We hope that we can raise lots of money for this year’s Head Boys’ Charities and we would like to thank everyone who supports us along the way.
