Scribbler and friends Guardian Trip
Recently the Scribbler team took a trip down to London to visit the Guardian newspaper offices to see how journalists do their jobs of editing and writing articles.
The trip began with a walk down to the Potters Bar train station and taking a train to Kings Cross. From there we walked to their offices. At first we were shocked by the appearance of the place and how good it looked. After we entered we were taken to their education centre where a lady called Jan taught us the basics of editing and creating a front cover for a news paper.
The workshop was great experience for everyone who came and the results of the front covers at the end were absolutely amazing.
To make this front cover the guardian had typed different articles for us so they could make us focus on the editing. We had a selection of different photos to choose from and had to decide which was the most appropriate for our article.
The journey home started as soon as we had ended our workshop. After the workshop Jan gave us our front covers and we set off. It was a great experience and felt like a once in a life time opportunity.
