Lochinver House

World Book Day Celebrations

It certainly wasn't hard to spot Wally during World Book Day!

The 20th anniversary of World Book Day saw a host of wonderful characters wandering round Lochinver House and even the staff meetings were a sight to behold as the whole community dressed up as their favourite literary heroes.

Every class contributed to travelling books where a story was written in stages,  celebrated authors Chris Wormell and Benjamin Scott ran workshops and there were dramatic readings in the library by our very own talented storytellers, Mr Walker and Mr Cavanagh.

There was writing, illustrating and reading galore as well as a song about books from Pre Prep, a poem recited by Year 3 and a short sketch by some of the boys from Year 5 and 6.  A huge thank you to everyone who was involved (including the parents for some very creative costume ideas) whatever can we do next year?

Yesterday's first ever Pre Prep Lego Club was a massive hit! The boys listened to 'Whatever next' by Jill Murphy and then designed rockets for Baby Bear to fly to the moon, complete with a seat for his companion, Owl. Next week the boys will design and construct landmarks.
