G.R.I.T in the English Departmnet
As you may be aware there is a new GRIT initiative running in the Senior School English department this year. The programme is designed to encourage students to show each of the four key areas of G.R.I.T:
Resilience-ability to bounce back from disappointment
Initiative-to act independently
A key component of this G.R.I.T programme is to provide opportunities to build on these important skills through sessions and reflection. The department believes that the development of these life-learning skills will be crucial to future happiness and success. As part of this programme, we have created a special G.R.I.T honour that is awarded to boys who we feel have shown their commitment to G.R.I.T. The first 4 recipients of these special badges were awarded in assembly today. The students selected were: Oscar McCarthy (Year 8), Scott Morris (Yr 7), Jack Bracken (Yr 6), Alex Li-Rentzos (Yr 5).
Many congratulations to these deserved four and we hope that during the course of this year everyone involved in the English department will find many opportunities to develop their G.R.I.T and show a fearless approach to learning.
The boys have been busy practising for this evening's Carol Service. We look forward to seeing you at Christ Church, Little Heath at 7 pm for what promises to be a joyous occasion. https://t.co/F9H5rPLBxq
