8 Lochinver Boys Through to the Next Round!

We were delighted to receive the news that Brando, Rocco, Lewis, Nick, Mihir, Lucas, Niyam and James made it through the first round of 500 Words, 2018 with their original stories, told in no more than 500 words!

BBC Radio 2's 500 Word Competition was the brainchild of Chris Evans some 7 years ago while he was dreaming about getting children excited about reading and writing.  It is now one of the most successful story-writing competitions for young people in the world, with three quarters of a million children having submitted entries to date.

Each year, over 100,000 children enter the competition and the top 5000 stories are put through to the second round of judging.  To get to this stage is a fantastic achievement so well done boys and keep writing!

Yesterday's first ever Pre Prep Lego Club was a massive hit! The boys listened to 'Whatever next' by Jill Murphy and then designed rockets for Baby Bear to fly to the moon, complete with a seat for his companion, Owl. Next week the boys will design and construct landmarks.
