Year 8 Enjoy a Race Through 70 Years of Iconic Cars
“I shall always remember my first Ferrari” - Gianni Agnelli in 1950 (future Head of Fiat)
Last week, as part of their Art and DT curriculum, Year 8 had the fantastic opportunity to visit the 'Ferrari: Under the Skin' exhibition at the Design Museum.
They boys were able to explore Enzo Ferrari's inspirations, original photography and drawings, hand written letters and even his driving license at an exhibition dedicated to detailing the unremitting drive of the great man to create the perfect driving machine for track and road. This is the very first time that some racing cars and memorabilia have been on display to the public.
On show are Michael Schumacher's F1-2000 winning car, the Tipo 500 Grand Prix car in which Alberto Ascari won the World Championship in 1952 and 1953, the 250 GT SWB which Sir Stirling Moss drove to victory in the 1960 Goodwood TT, alongside a 1961 250 GT Sperimentale, a 1986 Testarossa Spyder and a 1988 F40 to name but a few!
