Royal Coin Mosaic Challenge

Royal Coin Mosaic Challenge

The sun was shining on every boy in Reception to Year 8 last Thursday when they all came together for our Royal Coin Mosaic Challenge.

For the previous two weeks, encouraged by a team of Year 8 boys, each year group and our staff were charged with bringing in as many coins as possible to complete individual class and a staff mosaic.   This was in honour of her Majesty The Queen's 90th birthday and the mosaics were given a royal theme.  We had a tower of London, Corgi's, crowns and even a royal handbag!  There were various portraits of the Queen but the winners were class RO and their super design is the photograph above!

The event raised lots of money for our Head Boys' Charities (Fight for Sight, The Cure Parkinson's Trust and Malaria Consortium) and we all had a lot of fun too!

We thank our Year 8 boys for so ably assisting the younger  boys in their mosaic endeavours and Mr Donohoe and Mrs Barry for their help in organising the event.   True to Lochinver tradition, our Head Boys' mums and an industrious team of supporters sold delicious cakes, tea and coffee for which we also say a massive thank you!
